Do you enjoy helping others? Are you patient, caring and reliable? We’re looking for Passenger Assistants / SEN Support Workers to join our friendly, family-run team at Lawson’s of Corby!
You’ll play an important role in helping children travel safely to and from school, supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) as well as, where required, mainstream primary school pupils.
💙 What does the role involve?
Supporting children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, hearing impairments and mobility difficulties.
Helping children board and leave the vehicle safely (no weight-bearing duties).
Assisting with seatbelts, school bags and finding their seats.
Providing reassurance, guidance and encouragement throughout their journey.
Communicating effectively with children, parents, schools and drivers.
Being prepared to respond calmly and appropriately in an emergency.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the training yet! Full training will be provided, including EpiPen training for allergies and a Passenger Assistant Training (PATs) qualification. You must also be willing to attend periodic refresher training.
⏰ Working Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday
Morning: 7:30am–9:30am
Afternoon: 2:30pm–4:30pm
Term time only – 190 days per academic year
Approximately 20 hours per week

✅ What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is caring, patient, dependable and responsible, with good spoken and written English to communicate effectively, particularly in emergency situations.
An enhanced DBS check, including the relevant barred-list checks where applicable, will be required. The application costs £58, which will be refunded following a satisfactory DBS result, in accordance with company policy.
Important availability requirements: Due to the needs of the children we support, candidates must be available Monday to Friday during school term time. Holidays cannot be taken during term time, and reliable attendance is essential.

We’re looking for a flexible, customer-focused driver who takes pride in delivering a safe, reliable and friendly service to our passengers.
⏰ The Role
Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon school runs.
Additional overtime may be available on an ad-hoc basis.
A variety of driving work, including schools, private hires, day trips and tours.
Flexibility to undertake different types of work when required.
✅ What We’re Looking For
A valid PCV driving licence – Category D.
A Driver CPC qualification/card. Don’t have your CPC? Please still apply! We can support the right candidate through the required CPC training.
A willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check, including relevant barred-list checks where applicable.
A commitment to ongoing and periodic training.
A professional, friendly and reliable approach to passengers and colleagues.
